MULTIPLYING YOUR $ IN EXPANDING THE KINGDOM
As a nonprofit organization we rely on contributions, rather than sale of products or services to support the ministry. Being a faith mission, our dependence is on God as we seek him in prayer, but we recognise his use of means. The contributions that fund our ministry come to us from two main sources:
  1. By individuals that give sacrificially above and beyond their giving to the local congregation.
  2. The second source of our funding comes from the local congregations and ministries.

The 2006-7 Urban Leadership budget is approximately $270,000 which means that if 200 people committed to giving just $50,$100 or $200 a month our budget would be met.  The following projects are immediate opportunities to use your tithes or more for the church of God in its global advance in the cities and among the poor.
 Urban Leadership Staff Support
  • 25 new monthly team supporters are needed for the Griggs, giving $50 or $100 per month.
  • Office Staff are often overlooked in mission.  Our staff need to raise $1500/month.
Urban Poor Leaders' Consultations
  • Gatherings of urban poor pastors 4-5 times per year. . Setup, scholarships, publications and travel funds are needed for each one........................... ...$7000 each
  • Scholarships for pastors attending training... $50 each
  • Encarnacao Alliance Global Leadership gathering of 125 leaders of slum movements to develop training processes for leadership and grassroots, set up an Indian Urban Poor Alliance, integrate material on land rights struggles, develop a capacity building commission etc.... $25,000

Urban Poor Projects

  • Housing for Aling Nena, an old lady in Manila where the ministry started - converting from a plywood house to concrete blocks (Foundations $5000, total, $20,000)
  • HIV/AIDS program in Ugandan slums.......$15,000
Urban Poor Transformation
  • Publications have mobilized many. Costs of republication of several booklets, translation into Portuguese of the Kingdom of God and Land Rights booklet, and editing /translation costs for preparation to republish Companion to the Poor and Cry of the Urban Poor in Portuguese, Tamil, Spanish............ .........           ...............$1000 each
