Ięda Grigg

Touching the Depths of Heart, Soul and Spirit

Ięda has been involved with missions for over twenty years. Converted in Sao Paulo, at age 7, she began to teach the scriptures as a teenager. At 17, she was trained for five years in the scriptures and tribal ministry with New Tribes Mission, and then ordained by the Free Methodist Conference of Brazil, who have sent her out first to India, then to a global ministry as an inspiritaional teacher of the word of God.

Before the Brazilian churches had thought of foreign missions, she made her way to India, on board the ship Doulos to Eurpe then across 35 countries by truck. There she felt called to minister to tribal girls with Operation Mobilization. After marriage, has been ministry in Calcutta, in the slums of Los Angeles, and among Indian migrants in New Zealand, with her husband Viv. As a wife and mother, encouraging others in the Word, both in conference groups and to those in local churches continues to be Ięda's wellspring of joy.

She is married to Viv Grigg and they have three children, Monique (12), Leonardo (10)and Bianca (7).

Dreamer in the Underside of Global Megalopolises

Growing up in Dunedin, New Zealand, then following the Holy Spirit, and in simple faith trusting in the Lord for provision, Viv Grigg has been a prophetic voice, living among the poor, churchplanting first in Manila, then with Ieda in Calcutta, Sao Paulo, Los Angeles... The Lord has been pleased to use him to catalyze several new apostolic orders (networks of communities) who live incarnationally in the slums of over 30 emerging mega-cities, planting churches and creating a plethora of ministries to transform poverty.

Lead by the Lord in the 90's to initiate strategies for citywide transformative revival, he coordinated the global AD2000 Cities network, networking city leadership teams with strategies for evangelism, reconciliation and transformation. He travels to different continents each year expanding networks of urban poor workers and training.

He teaches in seminaries as he travels, and is author of Companion to the Poor, Transforming Cities and others. Director of Urban Leadership Foundation.
