Socialism and Marxism

The rise of Marxism from Russian feudalism was a 20th century phenomenon that ended in disaster for those countries that embraced it. Thus the political solutions proposed and implemented by Marx utlimately demonstrated faulty logic in his theories. Yet Marx's underlying critiques of capitalism remain significant and predict its ultimate oppressions and collapse.

Socialism is a less defined field, covering many experiments at both grassrots community levels and at national gobvernmental levels to apply principles of cooperation across sectors of society.

The expansion of bureaucratic capitalism has merged with many socialist ideals as Western nations have increasing moved to governmental management of major sectors of society.

These issues directly affect the urban poor.
