Pastors' Prayer Summit
Fire
of Hope for Revival Ignited

Fifty eight pastors representing a gamut Of
denominations, theological persuasions, and ethnic backgrounds met together for three days to seek-the Lord and wait in expectation for that moment of divine visitation, David Bryant, founder and president of Concerts of Prayer International, assisted in leading this time of crying out to God for purity, unity and revival. The Pastors' Prayer Summit, hosted by the pastors of Greater Phoenix, was held February 27, 28 and March) at The Log Cabin Village in Prescott, Arizona.
While they were away wives, intercessors and congregations prayed for their leaders to experience a fresh move of the Holy Spirit. At the Prayer Summit pastors themselves cried out to God for renewal; restoration, and a rekindled passion for
Christ.
"Our opening prayer was that we might minister unto the Lord, and that He would minister unto us," says Bill Phillips, Metro
Presbyterian Church in Phoenix. "In my estimation God mightily answered both petitions. "
The fruit of all these prayers is evident in the comments of many pastors who attended the Prayer Summit
"I knew that God wanted me to be at the 1995 Pastors' Prayer Summit Did He ever!
His presence in our Tuesday evening worship time was especially powerful. The
Lord ministered to me a new release and much' needed restoration of my spirit."
(Gary Kinnaman, Word of Grace, Mesa, Ariz.)
"I've not had the personal experience to pray and worship like that in 15years. I felt very close to God. The Prayer Summit brought a real time of repentance." (David Nye, St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Globe, Ariz.)
"Super fantabulous! Awesome! I could think of more great adjectives but for me
it was a timely renewal a rekindling of the flame of the Spirit in me.'" (Joe Morris, Cactus
Shadows Baptist Church, Cave Creek, Ariz.)
"My passion has been rekindled! The
fire of God does bum in my heart! We as leaders, we as the church, need the' outpouring of the
Holy Spirit' so we can be anointed
; Messengers of Hope.'" (Loren Cook,
Fountainhead Church, Tempe, Ariz.)
The Pastors' Prayer Summit was a great experience! It was a breath of fresh air to my soul. I'm looking forward to the next one." (Jack Duran, New Joy Ministries, Peoria, Ariz.)
"For me the Prayer Summit was refreshing, definitely a spiritual renewal. I would encourage other pastors and ministers to make plans now to attend next-year. The
chorus that was written by Michael Ledner at the Summit, '. . . Lord we cry unto
You. . .' is being sung all over Sierra Vista." (Shawn Buchanan, St. Paul
Missionary Baptist Church, Sierra Vista, Ariz.)
Others shared how they experienced a new hope for revival in the church of the
Lord Jesus Christ
"I have longed for times to cry out with pastors for revival upon our cities.
God
marvelously took us there from the onset and 'kept us there throughout the
Summit." (Kevin Hartke, Trinity Christian Fellowship, Chandler, Ariz.)
"I'm not a revival type guy. Yet, at
this Prayer Summit revival was the main topic,
and David Bryant's words on revival pierced my heart. God
made
me a revival type guy
Because I see no, how well it lines up with
His love." (Michael Ledner, Grace Chapel Foursquare, Scottsdale, Ariz.)
"I was encouraged to hear about the
worldwide prayer movement going on, and towards God and man, we will see more of
how history bears out that every time the church is called to prayer it has
resulted in restoration and renewal. I believe pastors left the Summit
with a fresh hope, and fresh directives to prepare our congregations for the
renewal that's coming." (Mark Winslow, Good Shepherd Mennonite Church, Phoenix)
As the pastors focused upon the Lord they no longer saw their differences
but experienced a new bond of unity.
"My experience at the Prayer summit was one of identifying in a very real way
what it is like when a people dwell together under the influence of the Holy
Spirit. For a period of 48 hours we experienced life in the Spirit, with
little of the flesh-life present. It was a place to head the Word of the
Lord powerfully proclaimed and to worship god in Spirit and Truth. (Rick Weiss,
Morningside Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Phoenix.)

"What was of special
significance to me was the
whole dynamic of the
pastors working and
praying together. David
Bryant's teaching was a
good catalyst to bring
unity in prayer." (Randy
Helm, Hope Chapel,
Glendale, Ariz.)
"I enjoyed the Prayer Summit last year, but found this to be even more wonderful as we experienced a time of refreshing, seeking His face, and
sensing a bond of unity. Our focus this year was more on Him and less on ourselves. I just want to encourage more pastors to attend next year." (David Edgington, First Evangelical Free Church, Phoenix)
"The Prayer Summit was of great benefit to me. It helped me build relationships with the other pastors in
my area of the city as we prayed and shared together." (Mark Morgan, East Valley Vineyard, Mesa, Ariz.)

The testimony of pastors is that this was the best Prayer Summit ever. They are saying, "We as the pastors of our city have reached a new level."
"Each of the pastors I have spoken with since the Prayer Summit has testified that God is doing something special in their lives and ministry since returning. It seems that God has
sovereignly moved us to another level for His purpose. As we purpose to be humble
towards God and man, we will see more of the Church added to this united effort.
Heaven will hear one united voice from our State, ''Come Lord Jesus!' "(Greg Brown, Skyline Church of the West Valley, Glendale, Ariz.)
"The Lord exceeded our expectations. At
Good Shepherd Mennonite Church, Phoenix) the end of the first day of the Summit
we all felt we had reached a level higher than the Place we had ended on the last day of the previous Summit. God gloriously brought those who were there for the first time and those who had come many times into the same place with Him. There was no difference. We were all one in the Lord." (Hal Sacks, El Shaddai ,Ministries. )
"I haven't attended a Prayer Summit since the first one, and I thought that was great. Wow! What a change in the maturity of the prayer and the richness of the fellowship.
It had grown so much I was overwhelmed. Praise God! I1e is building the leaders of His church." (Rick Yeatts, Lifeline Community Church,
Phoenix:)
"The '95 Prayer Summit
was great the pest of the-the best of the
three I've attended. I was
especially encouraged by
David Bryant's challenge
to make a list of all the good things God is doing now in our own churches and expand on that." (Mark Fuller, Dobson Ranch Nazarene,
Chandler, Ariz.)
"I've been to all the Summits. God has used each one to strengthen my life and- ministry, and our church. I find that each year the Summit gets better." (James Rupert, Maryvale Church of the Nazarene, Phoenix) Psalm 133:1&3 says, "When brothers dwell together in unity. . . there the Lora commands
His blessing." Many pastors saw a fulfillment of that promise as they prayed for God to
have His way in their lives, their churches, and their communities. Because of God's
response to their cries of desperation, pastors left the Summit with a desire to be "Messengers of Hope"
to their congregations.
(Pastors are building bonds of unity as they
meet together, at various sections of the city to pray for one another, their churches, and for a spiritual awakening in 'their city, state and nation. See pastors' prayer listing for a
location near you.)
