rope'. After joint prayer it was de-
.
cided to draft and defme a plan to reach Brussels with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ before 1992.
On January 13 and February 12. 1990, meetings were held for the spiritual leaders of Brussels and the plan'Project Brussels '91' was born.

first objective is to give everyone a

salvation in Christ.
2. GroWth in all existing fellow- ships and promote active panicipa- tion of all their members. In other words. they want t.~ see ~ol?le join- ing tne churches' as -a- result of this
activi ty. They are 100 king for groWth
in Jhree different dimensions: in- depth groWth in the spiriruallife of church members: more active par- ticipation by the present members and new members: numerical in- crease in new members,
3. Establish home Bible study groups in every neighborhood of
Brussels by January 1992 (at least one group for every ten thousand residents) to be the "intermediate stations" for spiritual development for non-believers before they feel comfortable to attend churches.
sity. Our working together means: 1. That every church or organl- zation that chooses to cooperate hasand maintains its own identity. 2. That every church ororgani-
zatio_n respects the other's identity, 3. That this cooperation is re- stricted in time and scope to the con- templated goal. ----
4. That we are convinced that
. this sort of cooperation will make an impression on all segments of the population.

(
Christian organizations that will co- operate on this project have placed themselves under the leadership of the churches of Brussels. They want to ful fiU a servant's role. .-\t this moment there.are six such organiza- tions and a few more might possibly join. At this time the list includes: Operation Mobilization. Youth with a ~ission. Greater Europe ~1ission. Youth for Christ, Gospel House-to- House and the Belgian Bible Society which has its own international alli- ances.
In ordeno pursue the established goals, they began to take inventory .oflllLevangelism activities that have already been doing in greater Brus- sels. Encouragement and help have been rendered at the same time it was discussed to these evangelism

also being planned by Project Brus- sels '91, such as the training of train- ers for churches. It is their hope that these people will in their turn train other members in their own church or fellowship. In this way a large numberofChristians in Brussels will be involved in home Bible study groups
.
The first trainer' 5 training ses- sion was held in September '90. By December 1990 all trainers had been secured and trained. J anuarythrough March 1991 the trainers Vlill in their turn train as many Christians as possible.
The activity period is planned from March 30 through October 31 , 1991. Easter will mark the begin- ning of a new movement. They are looking forward for more personal evangelism on a massive scale. They
are planning to invite evangelists to reinforce the local Christians. The use of the JESUS film, with its ac- companying follow-up material, is an important tool. Gospel tracts will be personally given to all residents of Brussels along with a portion of
the Bible. ~ext to the publicity campaign a whole series ofactivities will be undertaken to bring the popu- lation to a certain degree of aware. , ness. Many of these wiIl target to certain groups, others will be more general, so that everyone will hear about it. For example. the studems will be targeted in September and October due to the cycle of the :lca. demic year.
Special vacation activities will be organized for specific youth groupings. Cultural presentations
l
will take place. At the same time there will be interest in the marginal members of society. If you have useful ideas that they have over- looked, would you draw them to their attention? They don't want to leave any approach untried!
It is clear that such a project with its high goals requires much concentration and spiritual strength. They really need'ail possible help in
order to make this effort succeed. \Vould you therefore consider j ing them?,J For information of PROJE~ f BRVSSELS 91:
